To me, the real story here is that the map is so gerrymandered that only 37 out of 435 districts are competitive. So, nearly 400 members are in districts that are so tilted that the real election is the primary and that the eventual representative is being chosen by whatever fraction of people registered in that party bother to vote in primaries. No wonder the House is full of hyperpartisans who have no idea how to work across the aisle to pursue real solutions to real issues. Between gerrymandering and Citizens United it's no wonder that our governance is dysfunctional to the point of being an existential threat to democracy.번역 보기
