Decades ago, I was the first male full-time cook to be hired. It was at a central kitchen for a large school district. 450 students were at the school I was working at. And shipped out another700 more. It was a very busy kitchen. For example: 180 gallons of mac and cheese,160 gallons of taco meat, 30 sheet trays of pizza, and we cooked 18 turkeys every day for turkey and gravy every 2 weeks. Best job I ever had.번역 보기

The rule at our house (4 kids) was you had to eat every item on the lunch menu for Mom to buy us lunch; only once a week. My favorite was turkey gravy over mashed potatoes served with green beans and a dessert. I also like the fried chicken lunch. Such great memories. On Friday, there was pizza served with 1/2 of a PB&J sandwich . An odd combination that had to do with required protein and commodity cheese. I figured out later in grade school that the cooks seemed to know who didn’t have much money at home so little to no lunch.
