During the winter, when there is snow on the ground, a group of about eight deer would sleep under the trees in our back yard. They pretty much ignored us, as long as we didn't get too close, and wandered off whenever they felt like it. This summer we have a doe that would snack in the back yard while I ate lunch on our deck. She now leaves her two fawns in the back yard when she wanders off to forage.
