I am a retired Circuit Judge from Florida. Each year, we had to file financial disclosures close to the dollar, not in ranges. The only "gift" I would accept was a plate of cookies at Christmas to be shared in the courtroom among the employees. We couldn't accept payment of a lunch, or even a drink at a social function. I would love to see these ethical boundaries applied to the US Supreme Court.번역 보기

While you can say that "technically" its not illegal and that congress isn't isn't a criminal enterprise, normal people don't care about what's "technically" legal (until its convenient for them). Most people see a lot of it for what it realistically is: abuse and exploitation. The only reason it's still legal is because they're quite literally the ones who define what is and isn't legal.번역 보기
