As someone who’s been playing F2P since launch, it really ain’t that bad. You just started so you’re in the lowest division. Once you start winning you’ll start fighting people on par with you within 1-3 hours. It is totally possible to be busted without paying and all the strong weapons he used are easily obtained for free. As a proper authority on the matter, it’s like a 3 or 4 /10, less than that if you just get good enough to fight mechs stronger than yours. I’d also like to credit the devs for massively improving the F2P experience. It used to be really bad with almost anything high level requiring real money but with recent updates it has become much more possible to advance for free.
