Sinon is the most tragic character in the movie The Odyssey. He represents the poor, who get tricked into fighting a war for their leaders and their glory, only to be betrayed by their own masters in return. Sinon was not even supposed to go to war, but he gets tricked by Antinous (in the presence of Odysseus) into taking his place in exchange for money for his poor family. During the war, Sinon gets tricked by his own men and King Odysseus into deceiving the Trojans to accept the horse, and Sinon dies believing in his king. However, it is only after death that Sinon learns the truth about his betrayal by Antinous and Odysseus. When Sinon confronts Odysseus in Hades, he asks Odysseus to seek revenge on Antinous as redemption for betraying him.
