I had a MainCoon named Sammy. This big guy would pant and would love to hang his head out the window if I let him. At first, we immediately thought his "heart"? But no, he was quite healthy until age 18. He was the last of my 5 street cats. He died because of his heart. How appropriate. It took me 6 months waiting for a cat to walk into my home. Like they usually did. But nothing, so I went to the cat rescue center and came home with a feral calico that hid for 6 months before dropping a dead mouse at my bedside. Since then, I have been training her for the past 10 years. She never could see another cat becoming a friend for her. But another 2 cats came through that door.
