By the way, I have never understood the need to call politicians "brave" when they give a speech in which they announce their intention to do something or other. It's not like they've run into a burning house to save sleeping children, is it?번역 보기

The simplest way to reform the FPTP electoral system is to add a second round, like they have in France for the Assemblée Nationale and for the Presidential election. The first round is the current election, and a week later there is a run off in the constituencies where there was no >50% winner. The two candidates with the highest scores face off, and the winner of this round becomes the MP. It has the advantage of having a House of Commons in which every MP has an actual majority, rather than just the largest minority. It would be extremely easy to organise, too. ’m not sure the parties would like it, though, because they could no longer rely on the estimation of their chances at winning 35-40% to gain the seat. And because it can lead to second round coalitions-of-the-willing, whereby parties that came second, third, fourth call on their voters to support a candidate of one of them to deny the biggest minority their win. (Of course, “calling on your voters” is a fraught tactic, as they can be very fickle and stubborn.)번역 보기
