This was one of my favourite episodes ever, although I love them all. I've been following Cat for quite a long time and really admire her for putting herself out there trying to combat all the misinformation in an often hostile social media world. I very much relate to the difficulties as a dog owner to know who to trust. The thing that I found the most difficult to decide was about neutering my dogs. I grew up in Germany (I am now in the UK), and neutering there is illegal unless there's a medical reason. Therefore, the advice given by mainstream German vets heavily focuses on the downsides of neutering - some of which sound terrifying. Unlike the niche advice that Cat mentioned that often comes from holistic vets regarding vaccines and kibble (but isn't a big thing outside of the online space and applies to only a minority of vets), the neutering advice is very much coming from all vets, and German vets would be breaking the law if they neutered a dog for no reason. In the UK the neutering advice is very different - it can be done as a routine procedure and is a choice, and many vets will advise neutering females in particular. I found it almost impossible to decide what to do and spoke with a number of German and English vets, hoping I'd be wiser in the end - but each side just provided more evidence to back up their advice, which contradicted the other side. I'm happy with what I chose for my two dogs, but I truly wish I had only ever had one piece of advice and listened to that - you can really drive yourself crazy otherwise! Thank you again 😊번역 보기
