I saw it yesterday and it was incredible. Think of it as a Pinoy "Wizard of Oz" blended with the lore of the "Ibong Adarna". The classic trio of the Tin Man, Lion, and Scarecrow is replaced by Mehrmann (Sirena), Bungi (Tiyanak), and a Sigbin/Aspin (Native Pinoy Dog) aswang (named Raww). Meanwhile, Jo and Raissa share the Dorothy role perfectly. The climax of the third act reduced me to tears, a reaction I have only experienced once before in a movie theater. That previous instance was during a poignant scene in Pixar's Ratatouille, yet this film possesses far more gravitas. This profound emotional impact sets the movie apart from anything else in recent memory. The movie is so well done that it deserves the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. It operates on the same masterpiece level as Disney's Coco and has all the right elements to become a Broadway musical. I believe this will be a massive commercial hit. If it takes off, it could expand into a trilogy, inspire Pinoy themed rides and toys at Universal Studios, and completely take over Halloween after it finishes dominating Hollywood. Tayo Na! Let's pack the theaters and watch it as many times as we can. Our stories and cultural icons deserve the largest screen available (skip Netflix) and great news is we finally got it!번역 보기
