Thank you for this. I see all of the time, typically with new reptile keepers, they bring home something like a ball python and ask how to properly care for them whilst keeping them in a 15 gal tank, and when they find out they may be in way over their heads with proper husbandry, the one who ultimately suffers is the animal. Because unfortunately these same individuals typically hold onto animals until they are ill or something goes horribly wrong before surrendering them to a rescue. I wish that people would get in the habit of researching animals thoroughly before acquiring them. I do weeks of research before even deciding on a new pet to bring home.번역 보기

Good points! I always tell people that once you set up the cage right (for my biggest royal python I spent over 1000 on her cage as she's in an 8ft with uvb ect) and set aside some vet money they are very cheap but you HAVE to make that initial investment and make sure you have a little left over if something goes wrong for them. I ended up getting snakes because I couldn't afford ferrets (and have now fallen completely in love with reptile keeping lol) so they are cheaper than a lot of mammalian and avian pets but that doesn't mean you should go into it recklessly번역 보기
