I formally request that Jolly Olive do a fun deep dive analysis into GM WAR to see if the Greats are really that great or if the ones who are bashed are really that bad. A GMs WAR should be calculated similarly to how Jolly Olive calculates trades, with an accrued number. Take the WAR for players Drafted, Traded For, Signed in Free Agency, and subtract the WAR of players traded away. If you're feeling spicy, try and determine the WAR of players they could have extended but lost in free agency. It could be a running series where Olive calculates the WAR for the most polarizing GMs in a franchise's history. As a Red Sox fan, I'd love to see how Theo measures up against Dombrowski, Bloom and Breslow. I'm sure it would be interesting to analyze for the Mets as well.번역 보기
