Excellent interview! Bruce Friedrich is wonderful and his work is so important. How is meat made now? Let’s take bacon, for example. Mother pigs are intensively, confined inside filthy farms, (I know because I’ve been inside - pigtrial2 & pigtrial4). Artificial insemination, many pregnancies. Then when they reach the end of their reproductive life they’re sent on a long journey to a nasty slaughter. Gas chambers are used in my country, Canada. Friends in the USA, UK, and Australia have risked their own lives, put video cameras inside the gas chambers and filmed the pigs writhing and screaming for the last breath. It’s horrifying to witness. While we can’t generally affect the human strife in the world, we can make a choice every single day, to not consume products of animal torture, such as bacon, eggs, dairy, etc. Eating vegan is the way of the future, as is cell based meat. Bacon as an example, intensive confinement of mother pigs in filthy pig farms (I’ve been inside), artificial insemination, then when their reproductive life is over, generally a long transport to a nasty death. Their piglets killed at about 5 months. Gas chambers are used in countries like mine, here in Canada, the USA, the UK, Australia; and friends have risked their lives to get footage. Horrifying to see the pigs writhing around and screaming for their last breath. While you often can’t make a difference with human strife, choosing not to consume animals is something you can do three times a day.번역 보기
