2 is 1 and 1 is none :) Always have a redundancy plan! Solid advice. A reasonably new battery died when cruising in Spain. Walking around back alleys trying to find a car workshop that sold batteries = limited options. Price was more than what I'd pay at home. Had to wait for one to be ordered in, so time wasted. Had to haul the heavy battery back in 30 degrees with a granny trolley lol. Non electrical items I don't wait to fail also include.... gear and accelerator cables (those have failed on friends boats coming into marinas!), steering cable (edison give a shelf life on those), and exhaust riser (rust destroyed mine and found out as I was just about to leave my berth. I am big on redundancy, so I have three different battery banks, and by keeping them isolated from each other it's not very likely that I'm ever going to have batteries failing to interfere with a trip. But if you're not taking care of your routine maintenance, it is not just a matter of convenience it can seriously put you and those with you in danger.번역 보기
