Based on the real story of Larisa Savitskaya, a Soviet Russian medical student who was returning with her husband from their honeymoon in the Russian far east (Sakhalin) to their city of Blagoveshchensk (in Eastern Siberia) on a AN-24 plane in August 1981. The plane collided midair with a military Tu-16 bomber following mistakes in height evaluations and lack of communication between civilian and military flight controllers. It took 8 minutes for the remains of the civilian airplane to reach the ground from a navigation height of 5 km. Larisa was the sole survivor, receiving serious injuries (broken ribs, arm, concussion, as well as losing most of her teeth). As the remains of the airplanes fell in the middle of the taiga, it took the rescuers three days to find her. She did not leave the crash sight, building a "shelter" out of the debris, keeping warm by covering herself with seat covers and protecting herself from the mosquitoes with plastic isolation sheets. She then made an almost complete recovery. She's also in the Guinness World Record Book for getting the lowest compensation ever for a survivor of an aircraft crash: 75 Soviet Rubles, worth about 111 USD in 1981.번역 보기
