btw Kowloon walled city the place where this game is set was one of the most densest places to ever exist on earth, it was this walled enclave in hong kong that ended up in a legal loophole where neither britain nor china actually governed it for decades. buildings just kept getting built illegally on top of each other with zero permits until it became one giant mega structure, with like 300+ buildings crammed in 6 acres holding 33k-50k ish people at its peak. sunlight barely hit the ground floor bc the buildings were so packed together, ppl called it "the city of darkness." gangs and thugs ran a lot of it, unlicensed doctors/dentists worked there, tons of drugs and gambling dens, but it was lowkey also a real functioning community with factories n food stalls and temples too, so it was like a small self sustaining city. it got demolished in 93-94 and now it's just a park.
