Man so HYPED! You’re one of the few Gojitubers I know I can trust, so was kinda hoping you’d do a breakdown like this. You definitely delivered! I doubt Murakami is a “villain” per se. Someone pointed out to me that Toho Kaiju movies rarely have human “villains”. That is, humans with truly malicious intent. Sure you have exceptions like the two Showa Mothra movies, but a running theme in the series is that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Especially because Takashi seems to like taking inspiration from the Millennium movies, where this was an especially common theme. The description of Murakami as traumatized by the war makes me think that too. Again, I’m hoping that he’s a bit of an improved take on Shiragami; a very well intentioned person who ends up making the problem much worse.
