Damn, father hugging the kid at the end really shows how abuse works. It's not 100% of violence. It's physical and psychological thread which is occasionally interrupted by warmth and love. That is why it is so hard to leave an abusive relationship. It hooks your body, makes your brain addicted to these constant mood swings, and gives you a false hope of improvement. That is a giant angry centipede (scopoloendra), and not a calm, gentle millipede. Millipedes are big babies and typically curl up into an adorable little ball when danger is near. Centipedes go on the attack, and they are often huge: like 5-8" long. They will hang from ceilings in caves by their last few back legs and grab an unsuspecting bat and blammo - lunch. They also can eat rats and mice. If one of these things bites you, the venom is so painful that it'll knock you on your back and make you cry for a week. In Hawaii, where I lived for a few years, the saying was that if you got bit by a centipede, you got someone to stock you generously on alcohol and stayed drunk for a week as it was the only way to make it through without wishing you were dead. My partner and I were sleeping in our bed on the third floor on an apartment complex without outside walkways. We pulled the blankets off one morning and found an aggressive seven incher in bed with us (not a euphemism). I grabbed a cup, trapped it, and tossed it off the balcony.
