I did help my bulldog Pyper last year because she had a cancerous splenic tumor that was visibly swelling within her body. I was told by the vet that it was painless, but would eventually burst and she would bleed out. She lived for quite a while but it was clear that she was very uncomfortable as it grew. To save her that horrible end, I chose euthanasia, because it seemed to be a kinder death. She was loved and spoiled until her end at about12 which is a typical lifespan for her breed. I still call her name, and the dog I adopted from the animal shelter after Pyper’s death, displays several of the same, exact behaviors as Pyper had.
