I am not worried or angry I like the trailer and wait to see the movie. No I am not young and under no illuision that this may not be the Narnia in my head canon and that's okay because that doesn't mean it will be a bad movie. The Lewis estate gave their okay so I am fine with it too. I also love the books번역 보기

Yes, Christians are too worried. I saw nothing in the trailer that screams this won't be a faithful adaptation of the story. The aesthetics are going to be wildly different, but the story beats are all there in the trailer. I recognized every scene from the book. The themes will be present. You can't tell this story without the Christian influences. I do think they will be dialed back a bit to appeal to a broader audience. I have no doubt about that, but the fact that Netflix wanted reshoots because the kids don't get to Narnia until the third act, and Gerwig refused because that's how Lewis wrote it, tells me everything I need to know. Netflix wanted to change the source material, and Gerwig said no. She's going to honor the story and themes. It's just going to be a situation where whatever brand of Christianity or spiritualism you possess, you'll be able to imprint onto it and find those biblical allegories. And I know that will still upset book purists who want Narnia to be told as strictly a Christian story with no room for interpretation, but that's not how artistic expression works, and it's not how art works. We are seeing Narnia through the eyes of Gerwig, and what this story meant to her as a kid. It's not how Lewis envisioned it, but how she envisioned it. It's personal, which all art should be. You're telling me you've never read a book description and it ignited your own imagination of what the thing looks like? I do it all the time. I did it literally with this book. When it was described as Aslan singing Narnia into being, I never pictured it in my head as singing, because lions don't sing. They roar, and so in my head, it was a roar on the scale of the big bang, and the stars and galaxies where the ones singing some epic choral song in the background while Aslan roared. Just because I imagined it differently than Lewis wrote it doesn't mean it wasn't just as impactful for me. And maybe Gerwig was listening to rock music while she was reading these books, and that's why she associates rock music to Narnia. That's the entire point of creative interpretation. The book is a starting point. It's not the end goal of an adaptation. I never want a one-to-one with whatever book is being adapted. I want to see the director's own unique style and take on it, and that's exactly what Gerwig is delivering. This is an art piece. It's going to be way more spectacular visually than what Lewis wrote, because for Gerwig, it is way more spectacular than what he wrote. I hope all that makes sense. I'd also like to mention, for the folks upset about Streep voicing Aslan, Lewis did it first. He gender-bent Satan into Jadis. Literally the writer of the book did the thing, but now we're mad that Gerwig is also doing the thing? Make it make sense. I don't even think we'll be able to tell it's her anyways. My guess is that they're going to play with the pitch and harmonics of Streep's voice so that it sounds both masculine and feminine. They might even layer her voice with loads of reverb so that Aslan will sound like multiple people talking at the same time, which I'm fine with. Again, we have to let directors be creative and color outside the lines with adaptations. So long as the heart of the thing is present, I say go crazy. Give us something bold and different.번역 보기
