The example given in this video reminds me of an early moment in Disco Elysium -- there's a seduction check early in the game where, if you succeed, you don't seduce the woman you're talking to, but instead realize that trying to seduce her right now is a bad idea. Your character doesn't even attempt to do it unless you fail the check. Inspired by this, perhaps succeeding on the Animal Handling check means the character realizes that they simply can't pacify this Hellhound in the midst of battle, and so they don't waste their action trying to do so.번역 보기
