If we had kept all traditions over time then many of us wouldn't be alive today. The world would be in chaos. Many countries had to sacrifice traditions that harms humans, society, nature, or animals. Tradition is never an excuse for evil deeds. The same as partying with alcohol is never an excuse to drive home drunk. The same as growing up in a violent family is never an excuse to punch people.
