Islam actually gave a very sound excuse as to why he didn't sub JDM, despite him controlling the Aussie for 98% of 5 rounds: it's his fight fight at 170, against the bigger guys, and so he's not too sure how much or how little to exert his energy & physicality. If you use too much energy, against the bigger guys at 170, in your first fight, and things don't go well and you have to go for 5 hard rounds, too much energy expenditure at the beginning could return to haunt you, in later rounds. So, he simply went the easier, safer route, he said; and that was to take JDM down and use his next level POSITIONAL CONTROL to dominate Jack on the mat and take the belt. Against Ian, however, Islam said: I know what to do. I've gained the proper weight, after a year and a half since I left 155.... I am feeling at home with the naturally bigger guys at 170. I don’t see a lot of way for Ian to win. I say this because Ian is from what I seen is on the back foot a lot moving around and like you guys said he’s not a power puncher he doesn’t have that one Punch power. I think Ian’s best option is to strike with lslam and keep at distance but we know Islam with pressure him to the cage almost like khabib does. I think Islam will add calm kicks to disrupt Ian to get ian to stop moving and to wrestle him more.번역 보기
