Just a slight correction. Larry's official title in the British government is 'Chief Mouser to the Cabinet Office'. He received his official title in 2011 - and this gave him access to public funds for food, medical help and a retirement plan. However, No 10 Downing Street has had an 'official' cat for centuries (the building is so old it's riddled with mice). All that said, Larry is a superstar at his job. Whenever there's something big or important going on in British politics, he will stalk around the building in front of journalists so they've got something to talk about. And when Donald Trump first visited the UK officially, there were massive protests against him. The US secret service and UK police had planned for this so Mr Trump wouldn't be discomforted. Larry, however, just strolled out of No 10 and sat underneath Trump's official limousine, "The Beast" and refused to move. The car couldn't move until Larry decided to move.
