I was a Correction Officer/Deputy at the same sheriff department where jelly roll was locked up. I always tried to treat inmates how I wanted to be treated. I would talk to them (when they let me) with equal of importance. But even more than that, I enjoyed giving them motivation and inspiration to do better in life. I'd literally let them out of their cell just so they can talk to me about what's going on in their life. Now I was still strict with certain things because I had to be plus I had to maintain control. I was being monitored by my leadership on the cameras also. Not everyone in those walls are good people, but it was depressing seeing the people in there who were capable in life. I remember driving home in the morning and feel kinda bad thinking about how the inmates I kinda got to know were in there for like a year or longer for crimes like drugs. I would think about what that did to their mental health. I could relate in a way because I was in the Army and deployed a couple times where I was isolated overseas. People in jail for drugs should be in rehab, not jail. I would do my best to help them while I was in there. Sometimes because I had to obviously, but I was very adamant about taking notes for their needs and helping to resolve their disputes..번역 보기
