I have had my slow cooker since I was 18, I am now 64 and I still use it nearly every week. Oh and it was a free gift from some catalogue. I wonder if the Ninja will last that long.번역 보기

For most people, I think the Ninja Combi 14-in-1 with the optional Ninja casserole dish and lid is a much better option. Pretty much all the same abilities, but with a fully fledged large air fryer built in as well. Much more bang for your counter space.번역 보기

I wouldn't call this a slow cooker. It's more of a dutch oven replacement with digital options. The difference between Slow Cook Low, Slow Cook High, and Braise are entirely the amount of time it takes to reach the braise temp. For unmarinated/unbrined meats, Slow Cook Low gives your meat time to marinate/brine as it cooks. Slow Cook High is better for cooking beans (8 hour cook time) where you want it to reach the max temp quicker but gentler than braising. Braising is typically done immediately after searing to get the temp straight to the maximum temp (perhaps you have already brined/marinated your meat overnight, or you're making soup). I do highly recommend looking into reverse searing where you braise your meat and then sear or roast (pulled pork, carnitas, etc.). Sear/saute meanwhile is good for parboiling french fries (use 1 tablespon salt and 1 tablespoon vinegar for each quart/liter of water. Boil for minimum 10 minutes). But I'd still recommend getting a stoneware crock slow cooker if you're wanting to slow cook since stoneware gives much better results. The thick base of the Ninja mitigates some of the heat retention issues of aluminium and steel pots, but stoneware reigns supreme at absorbing large amounts of heat and preventing temperature fluctuations over the extended cook time. Ninja's Slow Cook Low tops out at 95C for some reason whereas a stoneware crock will reach 99C. Another benefit of stoneware is that they're more scratch resistant than the non-stick coating in the Ninja, so if you intend to make chicken stock you will risk scratching and chipping your Ninja pot for that purpose. I'm often slow cooking chicken bones for 2-3 days so it's pretty useful to have a separate appliance for that.번역 보기
