Imagine the NHS hadn't been created in 1948, there'd be absolutely no chance the "treasury orthodoxy" would allow it to happen today. So many politicians and wealthy businessmen are detached from the lived reality of the common person, a government is meant to provide the best life for its people and keep its people safe - not just facilitate infinite corporate profit and greed.
