I don't know if I can even find the words to thank you, Sam, for the work you do. I have severe climate anxiety along with other mental problems. And sure, it can't be all good news, maybe some people need to encounter some doom and gloom if it might nudge them in a direction of a more sustainable life. But sometimes a person is doing all they can and still sees only the negative news stories and projections. I'm vegan, grow as much of my food as I can, plant greenery and flowers for pollinators, don't own a vehicle, haven't flown in 25 years (its not a brag, I'm dirt poor 😅) and try to speak to people about climate and wildlife when appropriate. To know that others, including stronger, more accomplished and influential people not only worry about the planet but actually improve our collective future through research and actions is a lifeline to me.
