In the small town of 5,000 people where I live there are 5 apartment blocks built before the 2008 global crash. There are at least 400 apartments that are ready for habitation but have stood empty for 18 years. This story is repeated all over Spain. There is no housing shortage in Spain but a reluctance by the banks who foreclosed on the constructors back in 2008/9 to sell these properties at a loss.번역 보기

If you look at vivienda construction levels, it dropped off hugely after the 2007 crash, and it has never recovered. We're talking about two decades of low home construction. THAT is the cause of the problem. This is a worldwide phenomenon. If anyone has a solution to this problem, then somebody let me know.번역 보기

This is a worldwide problem. Whose idea was it to open property, land, and housing to investors and speculators? Why aren't governments regulating real estate?번역 보기
