Diwati is a small torch ( on a tweeg cloth is wound dipped in kerosene & inflamed ) bhudhali is a small kittle like container which contains oil i e kerosene to pour on diwati to burn extinguishing flame . This combination was used in old times for the ceremonies organized at night . In Marathi marriages there is a special ceremony in which non-vegetarian food ( mutton & bajari bhakar ) are served to the guests in late evening with diwatya bhudhlya used for lighting.
