All of these steps also apply to soy curls. I rinse 2-3 times, squeeze out all water, before marinating and/or cooking. When you squeeze out the water from TVP or soy curls, you can see that yellow, oily substance coming out that is what leaves that weird flavor, at least a flavor that I can taste and find very unappealing. When I prepare TVP or curls the way you have shown, the omnivores in my family have no problem substituting these soy products for meat. Another good addition for a meaty flavor in ground beef recipes is Marmite, an umami bomb. I often marinate the TVP/soy curls in a mixture of those spices and sauces and some "beef" bouillon and marmite (it's very sticky, so you need to whisk in warm water to disperse). I also use these same types of marinade to really flavor up frozen/thawed tofu that I have crumbled up to then fry and use as a beef substitute. Some folks really just love the taste of plain tofu and their recipes reflect this. But those of us who are not soy taste fans, but appreciate their inclusion in our diets, these tips can really make a difference and enable them to expand their repertoire of recipes that they will truly enjoy eating, not just getting it down because they know they should be eating more protein. Thanks, Merle.번역 보기

People i bern eating this stuff for many many many years. You don't need to rinse it you don't need to cook it. Rehydrate with boiling water. Ley it sit a while 20 min or speed that up do 45 seconds in the microwave. It will taste like whatever you season it with. Treat it like ground beef. Every premade hamburgers has this in it. You have bern eating this stuff for years allready. All the rest of her tops are right on. I use the store brand mushroom soup packet to make it taste meaty. This stuff makes endless things.번역 보기
