Why Humans Are the Only Animals Truly Hardwired for Music

I read once that music is the last thing an Alzheimer's patient forgets. My mother, who was a singer, had Alzheimer's, and even though she didn't know me anymnore and couldn't talk, she responded quite emotionally when I played a piece from Carmen, which she used to sing. There was definitely a connection there, and even if she didn't connect with me, she did seem to connect with her own self once more before she died.번역 보기

One of my friends had a Parrot that loved to sing/dance to a few favorite songs and would complain when music was turned off.번역 보기

I think one of the coolest experiences I've ever had was performing in a woodwind quintet in a butterfly pavilion. As we played, the butterflies sworled around our horns and in the middle of all five of us. I think not only were we entranced with them, but them with us, and then on top of that, the crowd was fascinated with the effect the music had on the butterflies. It was really cool..번역 보기
