The 'Anywhere but..." series is one I have followed for many years, like many of those watching. It is an unsurpassed chronicle of our times. It brings in the voices of those that these abstract 'meta' forces rain changes on. How ordinary and extraordinary our communities are and how the grand abstractions of public policy and political choices seem at once so central and so meaningless. Over the years I have felt both elated at the expressions of positivity, energy and hope - and the utter despair of the disconnect and desperation of people who ask for so little, yet are left with even less.
