My daughter found an abandoned kitten one winter. I couldn't turn it out. It was so small & cold, so after a warm bath, I brought it in to share my bed. After that, it was a nightly ritual. I laid her head on the pillow & pulled the blanket up and she always waited for me to do that. She either stayed that way all night or she would cuddle up and stay there. Every evening she would wait on top of the sofa by the door and cry if I didn't come home on time. I'm a senior now and don't drive, so I can't have a pet.
