Pros and Cons of Rats as Pets - They Don't Live Long Enough!

After 10 years of keeping rats (You don't own rats, they own you!) I've gotten to the point where I'm not really all that sad when one passes, not really anyway. While it is a sad occasion, I always ask myself if they were happy. Any rat that makes it to 2 years or more has lived a long life for a little squeaker, and the important part isn't how long they live, but the quality of their life. For my guys, they are always happy, or as happy as a rat can be anyway. That means in addition to food, water and clean bedding, it also means a relatively stacked enclosure, giving them plenty of enrichment to help keep them from getting bored. It also means plenty of free roam, treats and lots of luvins with plenty of hugs and kisses on their widdle head! After a whole decade now, I'm no longer sad when they depart, not really. I'm happy that they lived a long and quality life so don't be sad when they are gone; be happy that they lived and know there are always plenty of ratties out there that need a good forever home. They are such a small part of our lives, but to them, you are their everything; remember that!번역 보기

Hi Sam! I owned rats a few years ago and hope to have them again some day as they truly are incredible companions. I want to let you know how much i love your videos, i have found it difficult to find new rat content online, as many videos are super old with outdated info, so to see a guy so enthusiastic about his animals with great knowledge to share with the community is fantastic, thank you so much!번역 보기
