I Surprised Firefighters With a Gourmet Meal

I remember one winter, I had made chocolate chip cookies for a party but it got cancelled. So I walked the fresh cookies down to the local fire station in a thermal bag. I was walking up the path when one of the firefighters spotted me and greeted me. I asked if they were allowed to take gifts from the public. He said yes, depending. I then explained about the cookies and a second firefighter popped his head around the corner, parallel to the ground with a toddler-level excitement of "cookies?!" He then flounced over to peek around his coworker. I pulled the cookies out of the insulated bag to show they were still warm and steaming up the zipper bag they were in. The second firefighter accepted them with a massive smile, a thank you, and then bounced up the stairs like a goblin. The first firefighter and I shared amusement, he thanked me as well, and then we parted ways. A fond memory.
