Edit: First off, I genuinely didn’t expect this video to gain this much momentum but I’m over the moon with how deeply it’s resonated with so many of you. I’m incredibly grateful to have you all here watching this. Thank you. Given how far the video is clearly reaching, it also seems to be landing in front of people who may not normally watch gaming content so I just want to clarify one thing: I’m not advocating for games as a replacement for real life 😂😂Of course, going outside, spending time with people, exercising, travelling, being in nature and living a full life are important. Of course gaming should sit alongside those things, not replace them It’s not about choosing games over life. What began as a single question by a lonely campfire…turned into an odyssey of self discovery I’ll never forget. I think we can all agree modern life is constant stimulation. We are bombarded daily by apps and algorithms clawing for our attention… And the way I was gaming had become part of the vicious cycle. I could feel my brain literally beginning to rot… Don't get me wrong, I love the fast paced, high octane, competitive games, God damn can they be fun… But I'm reminded of the saying. After a good dance… you still have to pay the piper. Fun comes at a cost… And many of these games are designed to keep making us pay that cost, until we are mentally bankrupt. On this journey I've learnt the value of keeping it simple, I've been shown the benefit of being patient and I've been taught delaying your gratification is good for you… Hell, I even had a cosmic shift in perspective.... But if these over 400 hours of Solitude had taught me nothing else, they taught me gaming can either feed into the problem… or be one of the few places left we can go to escape it.
