I disagree with you on the time change 'not being a problem.' The innocence of Diggory and Polly is a mirror of the pre-war era. 1900/turn of the century London is not the same as mid-blitz 1940s London. The late Victorian era was marked by its enthusiastic embrace of exploration--both scientific and occult--mirrored by Uncle Andrew and his exploration into dramatically new territory. They entered a virgin world and introduced evil to it, just like the early 1900s was quickly introduced to the "evil" of WWI. The Pevensie children were seeking shelter from a war-torn world where they had no control--and they were dumped into a world that was also war-torn, but they were able to exercise some level of influence over it. The children who enter Narnia are significant not just because they are reenacting Bible allegories, they're also reflections and products of the time they lived in.번역 보기
