Being an athlete in India is simply either cricketer or nothing. Any kind of athletic talent is straight away pushed into cricket and thats the problem . There is no sport in india other than cricket. Our national sport is hockey but no one even play or watches it, only time someone buys a hockey stick is to break their enemies bones with it 😭 . And alot of gyms dont even push their athletes in Pro mma either they use their best athlete and use them again and again in ametur to build a good record and name . But atleast we got 4 Fighters now . Its the beginning and combat sport is slowly coming into picture we got owais yaqoob fighting in Brave and Nazareth Lalthazuala fighting in one championship. It's like asking why do Argentinans suck at cricket and Arabs at chess. Mma as a sport is barely 35 years old. India simply does not have a culture for combat sports as it has for cricket or chess. Let alone the training institutions or facilities for mma, the number of audience watching and people genuinely trying to become professional mixed martial artists is abysmally low compared to countries like US and Brazil. Once the sport gets more popular and people start taking interest in it, institutions might crop up and decent fighters might start coming out. But to expect India today to have a ufc level fighter is to expect Saudi Arabia to produce a world chess champion by defeating the incumbent Indian champ.번역 보기
