In case for those who are not familiar with the comics, Doctor Doom is driven by love for his mother Cynthia, a Romani Witch whose dark magic has doomed her soul to the demon Mephisto from the Brimstone dimension. He has spend most of his life studying science, technology and sorcery despite living a harsher life at an early age. And before they became arch rivals, Victor Von Doom and Reed Richards were once college contemporaries at Empire State University. While Reed offers him genuine teamwork and saw his warnings about math errors as helpful, objective peer review, Victor sees his peer’s polite corrections as an interference. He ignored Reed’s warnings during his experiments, which caused an explosion that scarred his face. Doom became a monarch of the fictional European nation of Latveria as he had an absolute, unyielding conviction that he is the sole intellect fit to save humanity from itself by conquering it. Doom also has a strong despise on other Marvel heroes because he views them as reckless, short-sighted children playing at saving the world while actually increasing its chaos. Despite his overwhelming ego, he does point out a valid critique of how heroes operate, arguing that they fight localized battles instead of fixing systemic human suffering. Basically Doom had some sort of a god complex who likes to pass his judgment upon everyone he sees. Guess it is no wonder how he became Stan Lee’s favorite. I hope Avengers Doomsday does go to that route while being inflicted by consequences of the Avengers’ Time Heist from Endgame and what Loki has has done by ascent as the "God of Stories" holding the branching realities together in his own Disney+ series.번역 보기
