I am a social worker. Healthcare is going to be unrecognizable once the work requirements go into effect. Hospitals will close because they aren't getting paid, people will die everywhere, and lives will be crushed on a regular basis. And for what? To pay for tax cuts for the rich. It's disgusting, pathetic, and shameful beyond words. What an embarrassment we are.번역 보기

I am a college educated single mother of three and have been on SNAP and medicaid....and it is everything Ms. Lowrey says and more...the stress, the confusion, the constant need to "reprove" your worthiness for programs when nothing has changed, the sending of exactly what they ask for only to be sent an anonymous message asking for the same thing, the difficulty of ever reaching a person at these agencies, the amount of time/energy/learning strange systems and platforms, the constant feeling of heightened alert that things holding you up are not really holding you and could be removed at any second and...and then what? ...and the growing sense that everything you are doing to support your family is proof of your failure at life because of the way you are treated by those very systems. It is awful. It is indeed humiliating. And it makes you at first very sad, but then resentful at being treated as less than human. I would also add that it isn't just government benefits/support. The "need to prove" shows up everywhere you turn: school lunch programs, aid for afterschool, sliding fee scales with therapists. It is a constant paperwork/reproving/cognitive overload and waste번역 보기
